More than just a hand out, Canadian Artists for the Poor is interested in development programs that provide long-term solutions for those living in extreme poverty.

Imagine the joy and relief a parent feels knowing that they are able to earn enough money to feed, clothe, educate and care for the health needs of their children.

We seek to assist by providing small loans (about $100) and skills training for eager entrepreneurs which enables them to launch a business, fulfill their potential and earn a living. Some of these businesses include buying and selling local products, farming and sewing.

Part of breaking the cycle of poverty includes replacing it with a cycle of self-reliance which is why canadian artists for the poor chooses to support organizations that serve with these Micro-Entreprise Development as opposed to only feeding programs.
